Upcoming PC games for 2022 and beyond
2022 already brought us some amazing videogames, but there are still multiple months until the end of the year. And, as you can imagine, the best is yet to come. Which is why we have a list with some of the most interesting and highly anticipated games for late 2022 and early 2023.
Starfield
Starfield is the first original license Bethesda has created in decades. It’s an ambitious game, the sheer idea of having more than 1000 planets to explore shows the true scope of the game. On top of that, there is a main story, but you can also roam around and explore any of the planets you want. The combination of storytelling, open world exploration and stunning visuals make this game one of the most highly anticipated titles in years. Expect Starfield to launch on the 11/11/22
Hogwarts Legacy
Harry Potter players have been clamoring for a great action RPG for a long time, and their dreams become a reality in Hogwarts Legacy. This game will allow you to create your own Hogwarts character, you can explore a variety of worlds, solve challenges and become a great wizard. Previews and gameplay videos are very promising, and this can become a cult classic in no time. Expect a December 22 release
Marvel's Midnight Suns
Marvel's Midnight Suns is a rather interesting blend of Marvel comics characters, card game mechanics and X-Com tactics. But it works great based on the gameplay videos, and the story seems extremely interesting. It’s certainly a new take on the genre, and we are here for it. Midnight Suns should be releasing early 2023.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
The Call of Duty games made by Infinity Ward seem to be the most anticipated in the series, especially after the success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This sequel brings us Ghost, Soap and Price, and it also feels like a step forward for the franchise when it comes to visuals, performance and story. MW 2 releases on the 28/10/22 with early Beta access available in September.
A Plague Tale: Requiem
A Plague Tale: Innocence was a commercial success and a critical hit, and thankfully we are now getting a sequel. This game is a direct sequel, it continues the story although the characters are a little older. We can expect even more rats and an extraordinary, highly personal story. Requiem is set to release on the 18/10/22.
Gotham Knights
Gotham Knights had a tumultuous development, but it’s still highly anticipated. Batman is dead, and Red Hood, Robin, Batgirl as well as Nightwing are here to take care of Gotham. It’s an RPG, so you will have all kinds of abilities and a progression system that will keep you playing more and more all the time. Gotham Knights is due for release on the 25/10/22, although some reports have this one pushing past its release date.
Company of Heroes 3
Company of Heroes 3 can easily become the strategy game to play this year. After a decade of waiting, we can finally enjoy this sequel, which is bringing many new things. They have a full tactical pause feature, a dynamic campaign map and new factions. It’s definitely worth checking out if you are interested in strategy titles. Company of heroes 3 is set to release on the 17/11/22.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
Even if Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora was pushed to 2023, it’s still a highly anticipated game. While it’s not related to the new movies that are coming out, the visuals, attention to detail and incredible worlds created in the game make it a must-try for everyone.
One thing is certain, there’s no shortage of amazing games coming out over the next 8 to 10 months. Aside from these, we also have titles like Redfall, Diablo IV, Minecraft Legends, Homeworld 3 and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, among many others. It’s a good time to be a gamer, and there’s certainly something for everyone!
